9. Publish for External Popups

Learn how to create and publish popups on external content management systems like WordPress, using the popup builder in Stylie. Implement exit-intent popups, customize their display, and incorporate them into specific pages or an entire website.

Popups are powerful tools to engage visitors, promote sales, or capture email addresses. In Stylie, you can create popups and easily publish them on any external content management system (CMS), including WordPress and other popular platforms. In this article, we will guide you through the process of creating, configuring, and publishing a popup on an external website.

Creating and Configuring a Popup:

  1. From the Stylie dashboard, use the filter option to select "Popups" and find the one you have created or wish to create.
  2. Click on "Edit Popup" to customize the design and content of the popup. In our example, we have a simple Black Friday popup.
  3. Under the "Settings" tab, set your desired display conditions. For instance, you can set the popup to appear on page exit intent, which means it will only appear when a user moves their cursor out of the browser section with the intention to leave the page or close the browser.

Publishing the Popup:

  1. Save your popup settings and return to the dashboard. Select "Popups" from the filter option again.
  2. Click on "Get Embed Code" for the popup you want to publish. A splash screen with code will appear.
  3. Click on "Copy Code" to copy the generated script. You will need to paste this in the footer section of the website you are working with.
  4. For this example, we will use WordPress. Depending on your WordPress theme or plugin, find the area that allows you to add custom code snippets for headers or footers. Paste the copied code into the "Footer" section and click "Publish."

Popup Behavior on the Website:

Navigate to the website where you pasted the code. The popup should now appear when you move your cursor out of the browser window, as specified in the settings. If you pasted the code within the overall theme's settings, the popup will appear on each page of the website.

If you want the popup to appear only on specific pages, remove the code from the theme settings and follow these steps:

  1. In the CMS (e.g., WordPress), select the specific page where you want the popup to appear.
  2. Go to the "Page Editor" and find the theme settings for that particular page.
  3. Scroll down to the custom code snippets section and paste the code in the "Footer" area. Update the page settings.

Now, the popup will only appear on the specified page and not on the entire site.

With Stylie's popup builder, you can seamlessly integrate customized popups into external CMS platforms, enhancing user engagement and expanding your web design and digital marketing capabilities.
