Harnessing the Power of Headers and Footers in Your Web Design
Headers and footers are crucial elements of web design, offering simplified navigation, especially for websites featuring multiple pages. Our website builder, particularly the Pro version, provides special blocks to aid in crafting these components for a more professional and user-friendly design.
Special Blocks for Headers and Footers
Inside the builder, the Block Manager holds these special blocks—specifically tailored for headers and footers. To utilize them, simply navigate to the Block Manager and select a new block under the header or footer categories. Despite being pre-made, they come with additional features, such as conditions that allow uniform application across your site.
Customizing the Header
After choosing a header block, you can move it to the top of the page using the Reorder sidebar. This header block, though technically a normal block, possesses special functionalities. Three settings modify its behavior:
You can also set the header as 'global,' enabling it to display on all or specific pages of your choice. You can experiment with other style features, such as changing the background color, adding a border, uploading an image, or adding a drop shadow to create a visual separation between the header and the main page. You also have control over the width, padding, margins, and even the ability to add a divider.
Remember, if you choose the 'sticky' option, the header's style can be different when it appears during scrolling. For instance, you can make it transparent or use a different color or logo.
Incorporating the Footer
The footer block functions similarly to the header block. Predefined footers are available in the Block Manager. Adding a footer to your page allows you to incorporate an additional menu or other vital information. Again, you have the option to make it 'global' and apply it to every page. Other options include adding a membership area and multilanguage features.
Both the header and footer blocks are potent tools at your disposal, granting your websites an edge in terms of functionality and aesthetics. Mastering their usage can truly make your web design pop and set you apart from the competition.
