Navigating through the intricacies of web design can often seem daunting, but managing fonts in your website builder needn't be complicated. This article offers a simple guide on how to seamlessly control and modify fonts to enhance your website's aesthetics and functionality.
When dealing with a text element in your builder, font management can be accessed from the typography (T) option located on the left-hand side. From this location, you can select the "add new font" option. This feature presents you with a splash screen, an interface providing the opportunity to introduce new fonts to your typography toolbox.
The fonts tab is where your currently selectable fonts are displayed. 'Lato' is pre-set as the default font, but you're at liberty to change this by clicking on any other font to make it the new default. With a myriad of fonts available, it's unlikely you'll employ all of them. As such, tidying up your typography space by removing unused fonts can be beneficial. You can easily delete any font by clicking on the trash can icon on the top right corner of each font.
Adding a new font presents two options: Google fonts or custom fonts. Google fonts are free and can be easily located as long as you know the font's name. For instance, to add 'Railway,' simply look it up, select it, click on "Continue," then "Done." Now, when you select any text element, your newly added font will be at the top of the available options list.
For a more tailored approach, you may opt to use custom fonts. Under the "Upload" option, name your font, click "Continue," and upload your desired font file. After setting the font weight, add the font. This custom font will then appear in your typography settings, ready for you to use.
Mastering font management ensures you can create a visually cohesive website that aligns with your brand's identity and values. With these tips, managing your typography toolbox becomes an effortless task, leaving you more time to focus on other aspects of building your dream website.
