4. Advanced Custom Fields & Assets

Learn how to use Stylie's CMS to create custom assets, manage dynamic fields, and set up specific sites, like review sites. Understand how to create, name, and define these assets, including adding relevant fields like images and text.

If you're looking to make your website stand out, Stylie's CMS (Content Management System) is your go-to solution. With this powerful tool, you can create dynamic fields and custom assets to tailor your website to your exact needs.

Understanding Dynamic Fields

In the world of web design, dynamic fields refer to parts of your webpage that change based on the specific information they contain. In Stylie's CMS, posts or blogs are treated as assets, and you can assign dynamic fields to them. This powerful feature allows you to create review sites or any other site that requires repeating features.

Creating Custom Assets

To create a custom asset, navigate to 'Custom' within the CMS sidebar and select 'Create Custom asset.' You'll then name your asset and assign it a plural name, which the system uses to create the asset slug.

Next, you'll select an icon for your asset. This now grants you the ability to add fields to your asset. The fields could include a title, excerpt, featured image, or slug. For example, if you're creating a movie review asset, you might have fields for the movie title, a movie poster image, and the release year.

Adding Fields to Your Custom Assets

Adding fields to your assets is a straightforward process. For instance, to add an image, select the image option, go to settings, name your field (e.g., Movie Poster), and decide whether it's a required field.

The same process applies to adding text, such as the release year of a film. In this case, you would click on 'Text,' assign a name like 'Release Year,' set it as required, and then define parameters such as minimum and maximum text lengths.

Broadening the Scope: References and Categories

The power of Stylie's CMS doesn't stop with individual fields. With the 'reference' and 'multi references' options, you can create subcategories for your custom assets. These can be anything you need, from film genres to product categories.

To do this, create another custom asset for your categories. For instance, if you were adding genres to your movie review asset, you would create a new custom asset for each genre. Then, back in your movie review asset, you would add a reference field, select the genre custom asset, and link it.

By taking full advantage of these tools, you can create dynamic and custom content that differentiates your website from the crowd. With Stylie's CMS, the potential for personalization is endless.
