Learn how to utilize the login registration element on your website for user management. This video guides you through setting up a login portal, modifying features, and creating a registration process for new users.

Utilizing the Login Registration Element for User Management

To enhance your website's user experience and improve your user management, the login registration element plays an instrumental role. It gives your visitors the ability to log into your website, new users to register, and unlocks a variety of other user-specific features.

Setting Up the Login Element

The login registration element works hand in hand with users, roles, and member blocks on your site. After setting up these components, you can use the login element to allow users to log into your website. A login part can typically be found in your site's header, footer, or a specific page.

To set it up, create a button or a similar interface item. Then, link this button to a popup, which will house your login form. This popup is initially blank, showing only the canvas, which can be customized as needed. You then add the login element to the canvas by selecting it from the 'add elements' section.

Customizing the Login Element

By default, the login element contains fields for users to enter their email and password. It also includes options for users to be remembered, reset their forgotten passwords, or new users to register.

These features can be customized as per your needs. By accessing the settings, you can select between 'Authorized', 'Register', and 'Forgot Password' options. Moreover, you can opt to deselect the 'Forgot Password' or 'Register' options on the login form based on your preferences. Once set, you can preview how the login form will look to the users visiting your site.

Creating a New Signup Form

For the registration of new users, you can alter the login element to function as a signup form. You can select the 'Register' type in the settings, which presents numerous fields. These fields can be customized based on your requirements. For instance, you may decide that you don't need the phone number field or the 'Back to Login' option for first-time registration.

Another key feature of the signup form is the ability to assign a default role to new users, for instance, a 'Subscriber'. You can also change the title to something more fitting like 'Sign Up'.

Having users sign up provides the advantage of not just collecting their email addresses, but also offering them exclusive content and benefits upon logging in. This approach can enhance user engagement and contribute to an overall positive user experience.
